Temporary Road/Lane Closure on S Nebraska Avenue and Channelside Drive to begin March 5, 2021 for Building Construction

A portion of S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue and Channelside Drive between Water Street (formerly Old Water Street) and S Nebraska Avenue will close on Friday, March 5, 2021 for building construction.  A private contractor will stage a crane on S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue to disassemble the tower crane on the new high-rise apartment building. 

S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue and the westbound lane on Channelside Drive between Water Street and S Nebraska Avenue will close at 9 am on Friday, March 5, 2021.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times during construction.

All lanes on S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue and one (1) westbound lane on Channelside Drive between Water Street and S Nebraska Avenue will reopen to traffic by 5 am on Monday, March 8, 2021, weather permitting.    

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
