Hundreds of Volunteers Fight Hunger and Feed 100,000 Families In Need

100K Tampa Bay families will have a healthy and nutritious meal thanks to the generosity of over 600 volunteers.

Yesterday at the International Pastors and Leadership Conference, we had the honor of hosting hundreds of volunteers who came together as proud ‘Hunger Fighters.’ Together they had the goal of feeding 100,000 underprivileged families throughout Tampa Bay—a goal they proudly achieved.

Set up in our Ballroom, devoted United MegaCare volunteers established an assembly line where the nutritious meals were packaged. Once assembled, they were collected by Feeding Tampa Bay in order to be distributed through the local Tampa Bay community.

Megachurch pastor, Thomas Dexter Jakes, was amongst the volunteers in the assembly line. His International Pastors and Leadership Conference helped organize this Hunger Project event as part of Bishop Jakes and T.D. Jakes Ministries’ mission of community outreach and giving.

The International Pastors & Leadership Conference is currently taking place at the Tampa Convention Center (April 25-27) bringing together 9,000 attendees. The Hunger Project encouraged convention-goers to volunteer one hour of their time to help pack the meals so that together they could achieve their goal of feeding 100K families.

This incredible generosity was made possible through the combined efforts of United MegaCare, Feeding Tampa Bay, and T.D. Jakes Ministries.

The Tampa Convention Center was proud to host his heartwarming movement and meet so many generous volunteers. Learn more: http://pastorsandleaders.org
