Tampa Police Department and the Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office Team Up for Homeless Outreach

This information is 1 year 8 months old and may no longer be accurate.

Today, the Tampa Police Department and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office worked together on a homeless outreach initiative to provide basic necessities to those in need. Dozens of organizations gathered at the Tampa Convention Center for the event, including the Salvation Army, the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, Metropolitan Ministries, Florida Health, Humana, and others. Some of the items that were distributed included free food, apparel, hygiene products, and bicycles.

In addition to donated goods, vendors at this event also offered a wide range of services, including free job search assistance, medical screenings, healthcare information, legal guidance, haircuts, and more. There was even a booth set up by Community Pet Project, offering animal care supplies like food, flea/tick medication, toys, leashes, etc.

The Tampa Convention Center is proud to have partnered with TPD and HCSO to host this Quarterly Homeless Outreach event.
