Welcome to the City of Tampa's Voluntary Special Needs Registry

The City of Tampa is committed to improving how our first responders communicate with individuals who have special needs—such as autism or any condition that affects their ability to speak, understand, or respond in typical ways.

This voluntary program—"Help Us Help You"—is a joint effort between the Tampa Police Department and Tampa Fire Rescue. Its goal is to help keep our residents safe by giving first responders access to important information during emergencies or service calls.

By completing this form, you’ll provide vital details such as the individual’s address and any communication challenges they may have. This helps our teams respond with awareness, understanding, and compassion.

After registration, we will mail you stickers that can be placed on the windows, doors, or vehicles associated with the individual. These serve as alerts to first responders that someone at that location may require special assistance.

Participating in this program is completely voluntary, and all shared information will be kept confidential.

If you have a loved one—of any age—whose disability affects how they communicate or follow instructions, we encourage you to register. It could make all the difference in a critical moment.
