If our water system experiences a loss in power or water pressure due to a hurricane, storm, or unforeseen emergency, we will notify all affected customers on the appropriate actions that need to be taken.

The City of Tampa is one of nine government entities that participates in the regional Tampa Bay Water Wise rebate program. Rebates range from EPA WaterSense high-efficiency toilets to Florida Water Star℠-certified new homes and even customizable rebates. Single-family and multi-family homeowners, businesses, builders, developers, and other organizations can apply. 


The following devices and services are available to Tampa Water Department customers only:

  • Request free water-saving devices 
    • Rain sensors (required by Florida law on all automatic irrigation systems)
    • Indoor plumbing retrofit kit
    • Pre-rinse spray valves (available to commercial accounts only)
  • Request a free evaluation of your outdoor water use. We will provide you with a basic irrigation budget for your lawn and landscape, including seasonal settings. This evaluation will compare your water use history to your calculated water budget as recommended for central Florida lawns by the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS).
