Purpose:
The City of Tampa Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP) was accepted as the Strategic Plan for the management of Tampa’s Urban Forest in November 2013. To ensure continued progress and implementation of UFMP, it calls for the creation of a Natural Resource Advisory Committee (NRAC), which will consist of a balanced representation of members from a variety of government, business, and neighborhood interests. The purpose is to address issues to promote government efficiency by annually reviewing the Urban Forest Management Plan audit and making recommendations on the alternatives for action to be addressed to the Planning Department.
The Natural Resources Advisory Committee is comprised of a variety of government, business and neighborhood interests. Members of the Committee represent a range of backgrounds and perspectives, including certified arborists, developers, neighborhoods and economic development organizations. - Embody the values of the community with respect to natural resources conservation and protection;
- Represent the interests of all stakeholders in an objective manner;
- Have no conflicts that would interfere with participating on the Committee;
The Natural Resources Advisory Committee typically meets twice per year to review progress on the Urban Forest Management Plan. Operating as a sunshine committee, meetings are publicly noticed and minutes are posted on City Planning Department webpage.
