Economic Opportunity

Economic Opportunity supports Tampa’s businesses, entrepreneurs, developers, and community partners through programs that foster business growth, investment, and commercial expansion. Businesses can apply for entrepreneur microgrants, receive personalized guidance through the Small Business Navigator, access information on tax credits and grant incentives, explore Opportunity Zones, review local economic data, and learn about major initiatives and community benefit projects.

The department also strengthens local industry by coordinating emergency planning and recovery efforts, managing the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) program, advancing international and Sister Cities initiatives, and connecting businesses with other City programs and regional economic development partners.
