Workforce Partnerships & Special Projects Department (WPSP):
The Workforce Partnerships & Special Projects department leads the Workforce initiative under Mayor Jane Castor's Transforming Tampa's Tomorrow vision. The department works to strengthen the city's workforce by addressing labor market gaps, expanding access to education, job training, and removing barriers to employment with a focus on underrepresented populations including young adults, and returning citizens. Meeting the individualized needs of job seekers requires collaboration with local businesses, educational institutions, nonprofits, public agencies, and technology. WPSP seeks to align Tampa's talent pipeline with in-demand careers, helping residents connect to meaningful, long-term economic opportunity.
