Equal Business Opportunity

The Equal Business Opportunity (EBO) Department is governed by City of Tampa Ordinance No. 2017-28, Chapter 26.5, which provides benefits, incentives, and contracting opportunities for Small Local Business Enterprises (SLBEs) to help them thrive and grow. EBO uses tools such as sheltered markets, goal setting, bid discounts, and bid preference points to help SLBEs compete for City contracts and procurement opportunities. Businesses can apply for certification or recertification, attend orientation classes, receive one-on-one certification assistance, and access bid opportunities, forms, certified firm directories, and contract information on the EBO webpage. EBO provides no-cost certification services to SLBEs and other eligible firms while helping maintain a strong pool of certified businesses to support the City of Tampa and its thriving economy.
