Boom by the Bay at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park (1001 N Blvd, Tampa, FL 33607) is Tampa’s premier Independence Day celebration, featuring family-friendly activities, live entertainment, an Apple Pie Throwdown, and a fireworks display. The event is free and open to the public.

Transportation

All City garages will be available, along with street parking and private lot options. City of Tampa parking garages (including Fort Brooke garage) will cost $10 for the day. However, we strongly encourage everyone to use rideshare and public transit options. View the City of Tampa Interactive Parking Map.

  • Poe Garage
  • The Fort Brooke Garage
  • Beulah Baptist Church
  • Green Lot

Attendees can also park in Ybor City and take the TECO Streetcar downtown.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING:

Accessible parking is available at the Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park South Parking Lot (located on W Cypress St.), and at all public parking facilities. 

Beginning July 1,2023, any individual properly displaying a disabled parking permit or license plate, can park for free for up to four (4) hours in a properly marked on-street metered space. It is NO LONGER a requirement to interact with a pay station or initiate a parking session through any of the mobile apps to receive the free four (4) hour parking session.

Please note that scooters are not permitted on the Tampa Riverwalk or along Bayshore Boulevard.

Mayor Jane’s Boom by the Bay is taking place at Julian B Lane Riverfront Park on Thursday, July 4th. This will be the only location for Boom by the Bay this year.

The fireworks are scheduled for dusk, but may be slightly adjusted due to weather concerns

Ways to get to Boom by the Bay include:

However, we strongly encourage everyone to use rideshare and public transit options, including the free Jolley Trolley with stops at the Fort Brooke and Poe Garages.

You are welcome to bring food and soft drinks. Please do not bring alcohol. Grilling and other cooking is prohibited.

Please remember that the fireworks will be loud and may not be a good environment for your four-legged friends. Well-behaved pets that are kept on a leash are welcome on the Riverwalk and in our public parks. Service animals are always welcome. 

Chairs and blankets, as well as small coolers will be allowed in public parks. Please do not bring alcohol. Large umbrellas or tents will not be permitted. For security, all items are subject to search, and please don’t leave your belongings unattended.

For the safety and comfort of other attendees please do not bring your own fireworks, including sparklers. All fireworks are prohibited in City parks and on the Tampa Riverwalk.

See Something, Say Something! If it is a public safety issue or something suspicious, please let a nearby police officer know, call Tampa Police’s non-emergency line at (813) 231-6130, or call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency. For other issues, please let any of our onsite staff know.
