How do personal and collective histories shape our present? What if, through technology, we find ourselves face-to-face with our past, caught in a reconfiguration of a life's story? Bridgman|Packer Dance is developing WHAT IF, a new stage work that dares to ask: what is truth? What is memory? What is imagination? Inspired by Paul Auster's novel 4321, Bridgman|Packer Dance uses archival footage, video technology, and a reimagined sound score to question the very continuum of time and to explore the infinite ways a life's story can unfold.
