Blackout Poetry highlights hidden meanings and the spaces that exist within the material around us. By training our poetic vision that’s often necessary in any art-making, students will create their own blackout poetry, focusing on negative space and transforming the meaning of existing materials. Materials will include newspapers, magazines, books and Sharpie markers. This workshop is inspired by Jun Kaneko’s “Silence Before Sound” exhibition. Ages 16+ | Beginner Level
