A Free Mental Health Lecture / Workshop on depression and bipolar disorder. Featuring three Psychiatrists from the University of South Florida School of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience. Presented by Depression Bipolar Support Tampa Bay, Inc. a Florida non-profit. A Q and A session follows the talk and there will be snacks and Refreshments provided.  Call 727 410-1569, for more information about the lecture or support groups available in Brandon, Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Sarasota. 

The lecture topic includes the epidemic of suicides and the current mental health crisis in America. The subjects of Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Anxiety will be discussed as well as their treatments, a Q & A session will follow the lecture. No registration necessary. The event is open to the general public, and held for individuals interested in psychiatry and mental health therapy.  These lectures are held to increase the understanding of various mood disorders and also to help to dispel the stigma of mental illness, which will help individuals needing help to be more likely to seek and accept it.

This is the latest presentation of the Aiken Lecture Series offered by DBS Tampa Bay, Inc.  These educational community events are held on a regular basis and have been hosted for over 35 years in the Tampa / St. Petersburg area.  This is the 40th Anniversary for this award winning non-profit which in addition to the lecture events operates 8 weekly in-person support groups on the Florida Suncoast for individuals diagnosed with a affective disorder.
