Notice of Election for Police Officer Trustee

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election will be held for the purpose of electing a member of the Police Department to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Tampa Fire & Police Pension Fund for the term commencing November 1, 2021 and expiring October 31, 2024. Police Officer incumbent Matthew Belmonte's term will be expiring October 31, 2021. 

Any person interested in becoming a candidate must sign up by contacting the F&P Pension Office at [email protected] no later than 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021. In order to qualify as a candidate, you must be an active member of the Tampa Police Department and a member of the Tampa Firefighters and Police Officers Pension Fund. Retirees and DROP participants are not eligible to serve on the Board of Trustees. Pension Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except City holidays.

In an effort to encourage greater voter participation and for the convenience of our active and retired members, mail-in ballots will be sent via first class mail to the home address on file for all plan members eligible to vote in this election. On the Election Day, the only manual polling location will be the F&P Pension Office at 3001 North Boulevard.

All active and retired Police Officer members of the Pension Fund are eligible to vote in this election. Since this election will be conducted primarily by mail ballots, it is imperative that your home address on file is accurate. Active police officers and DROP participants: update your home address with the City in Oracle. Address labels for actives will be generated by the City, which is outside the purview of the Pension Fund. Retirees: update your home address by submitting a change request in writing to the F&P Pension Office or by submitting a change of address on the Find’s website: https://www.tampagov.net/fire-and-police-pension/retiree-change-of-address

Ballots will be mailed on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Ballots with an incorrect address WILL NOT be forwarded by the Post Office to an alternate address and will be returned to the Pension Office. All mail ballots must be returned to the Pension Office, either by mail or delivered in person, NO LATER THAN 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an Election will be held for the purpose of electing a member of the Fire Department to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Tampa Fire & Police Pension Fund for the term commencing November 1, 2021 and expiring October 31, 2024. Firefighter incumbent John Cannon’s term will be expiring October 31, 2021.

Any person interested in becoming a candidate must sign up by contacting the F&P Pension Office at [email protected] no later than 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021. In order to qualify as a candidate, you must be an active member of the Tampa Fire Department and a member of the Tampa Firefighters and Police Officers Pension Fund. Retirees and DROP participants are not eligible to serve on the Board of Trustees. Pension Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except City holidays.
