Notice of Election for Police Officer Trustee

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election will be held for the purpose of electing a member of the Police Department to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of the City of Tampa Fire & Police Pension Fund for the remainder of Sergeant Douglas Burkett's term expiring October 31, 2022. 

In an effort to encourage greater voter participation and for the convenience of our active and retired members, mail-in ballots will be sent via first class mail to the home address on file for ALL plan members eligible to vote in this election. On the election day, the ONLY manual polling location will be the F&P Pension Office at 3001 North Boulevard.

Any person interested in becoming a candidate must sign up by contacting the F&P Pension Office at [email protected] no later than 1:00pm on Monday, June 28, 2021. In order to qualify as a candidate, you must be an active member of the Tampa Police Department and a member of the Fund.  Retirees and DROP participants are not eligible to serve on the Board of Trustees. 

Ballots will be mailed on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Ballots with an incorrect address WILL NOT be forwarded by the Post Office to an alternate address and will be returned to the Pension Office. All mail ballots must be returned to the Pension Office, either by mail or delivered in person, NO LATER THAN 4:00PM ON MONDAY, JULY 12, 2021.
