Inspired by Nneka Jones’ work featured in Avant Garde: Remarkable Women in the Permanent Collection at the Tampa Museum of Art, students will experiment with layering imagery, texture, and thread to transform everyday visuals into expressive works of art. Throughout the workshop, participants will learn foundational stitching and image-transfer techniques while developing their own visual narratives in a collaborative and supportive environment. The course encourages creative exploration, self-expression, and a fresh perspective on fiber art within contemporary art practices. All supplies are provided, including a custom supply kit curated by the artist, a value of $100+.
