NTCB Mary's Sink Flooding Relief Project

The Elmer Pond area is located within the North Tampa Closed Basin and experiences recurring flooding due to limited stormwater drainage and storage capacity. The City is proposing improvements to increase stormwater storage capacity and reduce flooding in the surrounding area. The project includes expanding the existing Elmer Pond and constructing additional stormwater ponds on recently acquired properties adjacent to the existing pond. Additional improvements will include the installation of drainage pipes and construction of stormwater control structures to improve the collection, storage, and management of stormwater runoff. Once completed, these improvements are expected to provide additional stormwater storage capacity, improve drainage conditions, and help reduce the frequency and severity of flooding in the area
