Ground Breaking for Utilities Project

Sulphur Springs PS FM Rehabilitation

Primary Details

Description
This project provides for the rehabilitation of the force main that serves the Sulphur Springs Pumping Station located at 7902 N 13th St. The scope includes approximately 24,500 linear feet of 42” and 48” force main extending to the force main discharge at E 29th Ave and N 26th St. As Part of this project the existing force main will be cleaned and rehabilitated to address significant clogging. The cleaning process will allow for a detailed inspection to assess overall condition of the force main. To maintain continuous service during cleaning, an abandoned force main in the vicinity will be reactivated and temporarily placed in service as a bypass to ensure the normal high flows from the PS are conveyed without interruption. The old force main will be left available long after the project is complete, providing more flexibility and resiliency for future challenges.
Community Benefits
The force main rehabilitation project will restore critical wastewater infrastructure by removing buildup and blockages that restrict flow and increase the risk of system failure. Cleaning the pipeline will improve the reliability and help prevent wastewater overflows that could impact the public health and environment, as well as enhance the overall system performance and extend service life of existing infrastructure.
