The City of Tampa Division of Community Affairs - Tampa Office of Human Rights enforces the City of Tampa Human Rights Ordinance which provides the public with the opportunity to file discrimination complaints in employment, housing, and public accommodations. In addition, the Tampa Office of Human Rights has a work-sharing agreement/contract with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to investigate housing and employment discrimination complaints based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, familial status or marital status...The office receives, investigates, conciliates, resolves, and refers other complaints to the appropriate agency. Those who believe they are being discriminated against may file a discrimination complaint at no charge.
