The Office of Special Events is part of the Parks & Recreation Department. Our mission is to provide a knowledgeable, customer-focused team, committed to leading you through the event permitting process while helping to create memorable events.

Our office exists to serve the community and to guide event planners through the special event permitting process. All bookings for special events, such as festivals, runs/walks, parades, and citywide holiday celebrations that take place on public property are initiated with our office. We've developed an easy-to-use, all-in-one permitting process to assist you in producing a successful event. 

Our Special Events team is comprised of event coordinators and parks operations supervisors. Our coordinators will guide you through the permitting process while our operations supervisors will be your on-site contacts for event logistics.

For special occasions like birthdays, baby showers, family reunions, and more, our dedicated reservation specialists in the Picnic Shelter Office are here to help you choose and reserve the ideal spot for your gathering.
