Protect Yourself From Utility Scams
Be alert for scammers posing as City of Tampa employees and demanding immediate payment for an overdue utility bill. Scammers may make their calls appear to come from the City of Tampa Utilities Call Center, so don’t rely on caller ID or let a sense of urgency pressure you into making a payment.
If you receive a suspicious call, hang up. Verify your account at utilities.tampa.gov or call the Utilities Call Center directly at (813) 274-8811.
When in doubt, don’t pay. Hang up and call us directly.

Request a payment extension or request a payment plan online at utilities.tampa.gov or contact our Utilities Call Center at (813) 274-8811, weekdays between 8am and 5pm, to avoid an interruption of service for non-payment.
