From working families to school children and differently-abled individuals, sidewalks are a lifeline to independence and a source of safety for many residents who rely on walking or biking as their means of travel.
The City of Tampa is working to bridge the gap in its sidewalk infrastructure through a proposed increase in funding for paving projects.
Mayor Jane Castor, along with a community sidewalk advocate and member of the City’s Mobility Department, will detail the necessity for more sidewalks citywide and showcase an area currently lacking vital infrastructure at a press conference on Friday, September 1, at 11:00 am at Rowlett Park, located at 2401 E Yukon St.
Media outlets are asked to RSVP by emailing media@tampagov.net.
