TAMPA, FL (Wednesday, December 29th, 2021) - On December 28th, 2021 Officers responded to Takomah Trail Park where they located an individual with no pulse.
Through investigative means, homicide detectives learned that a group of individuals (including the deceased) shot and robbed a victim in the park. The victim responded by firing his legally-owned and properly-permitted concealed gun, striking one of the suspects.
When officers arrived at the scene, the remaining suspects and the robbery victim had fled the area, but the suspect had succumbed to his injuries in the park.
The victim was located at a different location and cooperated with detectives. He went to the hospital with non life threatening injuries for treatment.
The suspect shot at Takomah Trail Park has been identified as Ian D. Thomas (DOB 01/17/2005).
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and further charges may be pending.
