Beginning at 9am today, the outside southbound lane of North Himes Avenue will be closed between West Cypress Street and West Cass Street as the Tampa Water Department returns to complete additional repairs following earlier work on a water main break. Starting on Friday, April 12, crews will close all southbound lanes on North Himes Avenue between West Cypress Street and West Cass Street to complete a more permanent road restoration. Barricades and signs will be located in the area to assist with traffic flow. Please use caution when driving in the area. Modifications to lane closures may be necessary during the course of the work.
The completion of the work with a return to normal traffic patterns is expected by 4pm, Friday, April 12. Work schedules are contingent upon weather conditions. The Tampa Water Department may need to return at a later date to complete additional work. An update will be provided at that time. The staff and crews of the Tampa Water Department appreciate everyone's patience during this time.
