The Tampa Convention Center has received significant interest in its Capital Improvements Project as it nears completion. Recently, local Tampa Bay media outlets have highlighted the progress being made on the construction for the Tampa Convention Center’s new expansion.
Fox13 Tampa Bay, a local TV news station, reported on the renovations happening on the Tampa Convention Center over the Tampa Riverwalk. During an interview, Tampa Convention Center Executive Director David Ingram explained how the upgrades take advantage of the center’s unique location on the water.
The Tampa Bay Times also featured the improvements being made to the Tampa Convention Center and the Tampa Riverwalk. The construction project required the portion of the Tampa Riverwalk in front of the Tampa Convention Center to close, but allowed construction crews to add improvements to the Riverwalk including new ADA ramps, railings, and updated lighting.
The Tampa Convention Center was also profiled by Telemundo 49. You can see that story here: https://www.telemundo49.com/noticias/nueva-cara-para-el-centro-de-convenciones-de-tampa/2206402/
The Tampa Convention Center Capital Improvements Project includes a two-story addition to the face of the center, filled with 18 new waterfront meeting rooms. The substantial completion date is projected for the end of June, which would allow the Riverwalk to reopen.
