Tampa Electric Company (TECO) Emergency Relief for Customers
TECO will continue essential work to provide safe and reliable electricity and natural gas to customers while working aggressively to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus. To help customers during this difficult time, Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas have suspended disconnections for non-payment through April.

We can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by simply calling 2-1-1 on your landline telephone and cell phones in Hillsborough County. Intervention Specialists provide immediate and confidential short-term crisis intervention, emotional support, and comprehensive information & referral to over 2,000 human services available in Hillsborough County, including resources for basic needs for food, rent, clothing, shelter and utilities, relationship counseling, senior services, health, and substance abuse issues, depression and suicide, teenage issues, parenting help, disaster assistance, legal affairs, and financial support.

If your employment has been negatively impacted as a result of the mitigation efforts in Florida to stop the spread of COVID-19, you may be eligible to receive Reemployment Assistance (formerly known as Unemployment Benefits) through the State of Florida. Note: Individuals whose employment has been impacted, but are still receiving wages through paid leave are not eligible to receive Reemployment Assistance.

Summer Break Spots - Free Meals for Kids
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is working to ensure that our state’s children have access to food during the Coronavirus pandemic. Summer BreakSpot locations are a place for kids and teens 18 and under to come and enjoy free meals while school is out. With Florida schools closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Commissioner Nikki Fried, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and the Division of Food, Nutrition, and Wellness encourage families to take advantage of alternative school meals that may be offered at these locations. Summer Break Spots in Hillsborough County will be operational beginning on March 23.
