Planning enables a more effective response by clearly documenting roles and responsibilities on how we will respond and mitigate the impacts from disasters. Although every disaster is different and because we don't know when an incident will strike or what will happen when it occurs, the City of Tampa's plans are designed to be flexible and adaptable to the situation.

Each of our plans is trained and exercised on by key personnel to ensure they are "ready to act" appropriately during a crisis.  Any issues that are discovered during exercises or "real-world" events are documented in an after-action report and addressed in the next plan update cycle.
