At the Tampa Convention Center, flawless conferences, conventions, corporate meetings, galas, and association events rely on a skilled operations team. That's why we are especially proud to announce that this month, Jose Hernandez, Maintenance Repairer II here at the Tampa Convention Center, was named ATU Local 1464 Employee of the Month.
Jose has worked for the City of Tampa for two years, and in that time has showcased an outstanding work ethic. In July–August 2025, Jose completed over 200 work orders and logged 400 man-hours, achieving the highest production rate among all Operations personnel. His work includes the Operations break room renovation (installing flooring, countertops, cabinets, and a sink) and painting over 5,000 sq. ft. of convention space, all while managing daily maintenance and emergency service requests.
Jose’s dedication ensures event planners can host seamless, professional events in TCC’s award-winning facility. His commitment reflects the high standards of Team TCC and the exceptional support behind every successful event.
Jose received a commendation during the Tampa City Council meeting on December 4, 2025. We thank the Tampa City Council for recognizing Jose’s outstanding contributions and celebrate the entire Team TCC, whose behind-the-scenes expertise ensures every event runs without a hitch.
