Keep Tampa Roads Safe
Every day, lots of people in Tampa drive to work, home, school, and other places. While driving is part of our routine, it's also a big responsibility. Traffic crashes are a major cause of preventable deaths and injuries in the U.S. Running red lights is one of the main reasons these crashes happen.
We are starting new programs to keep our intersections safe. These programs will help make Tampa's roads safer, so it's important to understand the rules. Take a moment to read this brochure. It explains how red-light cameras work and the rules for drivers.
We are joining many other cities in Florida and across the country to make intersections safer. For me, this program is all about safety, not about giving drivers tickets. In our great city, I want this program to help reduce crashes, prevent injuries, and save lives.
