The Tampa Convention Center is proud to welcome the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine (AEAONMS) for its 2023 Annual Imperial Convention. Approximately 12,000 attendees and their family members will be in the city of Tampa for the convention August 18-24, 2023.

In honor of the returning event, Visit Tampa Bay unveiled a special paver on the Tampa Riverwalk to commemorate the partnership between Tampa Bay and the Historic Prince Hall Shriners. Tampa Convention Center Executive Director, David Ingram, was honored to speak at the ceremony alongside Honorable Noble Eric R. Myers (Ret.), Hillsborough County Commissioner Gwen Myers, and Visit Tampa Bay President and CEO Santiago Corrada.

“The Tampa Bay community and Visit Tampa Bay have been always very welcoming to our organization,” said Honorable Noble Eric R. Myers (Ret.), “Our members come and they enjoy the Tampa Bay region. We appreciate all of the hospitality, all of the love.”

“We pride ourselves on being a warm and welcoming community that focuses on guest services, and you’ll be able to see that this week while you’re here at the convention center as well as when you’re out in the city,” Ingram said.

This is the 4th time for the Imperial Convention to be held at the Tampa Convention Center. The most recent iteration was in 2016. AEAONMS has already committed to return to the Tampa Convention Center in 2026.

One of the highlights of this convention will be the Annual AEAONMS Parade on Wednesday, August 23. It will start at 6pm at Nick Nuccio Parkway and 7th Avenue in Ybor City. Also, the Prince Hall Shriners’ National Community Health Walk will be held on Saturday, August 19 from 9am to 1pm at the Tampa Convention Center.

AEAONMS is dedicated to giving back to the Tampa community during their visit. The group will distribute scholarships, visit hospitals, and hold youth mentoring workshops during this event.
