Community Invited to Annual Illuminate East Tampa Celebration

The City of Tampa invites the community to the annual Illuminate East Tampa celebration.

Community leaders and City staff will light up three floating holiday trees at Robert L. Cole, Sr. Community Lake, located at 1798 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., on Friday, December 8. 
  
The celebration kicks-off at 6:30 p.m. with remarks from Parks & Recreation Interim Director Tony Mulkey, Tampa City Council Chairman Guido Maniscalco, Councilwoman Gwendolyn Henderson and Councilwoman Lynn Hurtak.

Following the programming will be holiday music from "Instruments 4 Life," a senior dance, crafts, a performance by Tampa Parks & Recreation cheerleaders, and even a visit from Santa. 
  
The group countdown to the tree lighting on the lake begins at 7:00 p.m. Illuminate East Tampa is hosted by Tampa Parks & Recreation.
