Senior Day in the Park is set for Friday, March 1, when more than 400 local seniors and 40 vendors will gather in MacFarlane Park for an event that promotes healthy living.

The event is free and open to the public. The David Barksdale Active Adult Center, 1801 N Lincoln Ave., is located in MacFarlane Park.

This Parks and Recreation Department event starts with a 1-mile walk in the park for those ready for some exercise. Seniors will be able to enjoy live entertainment, raffles, and games. Mayor Jane Castor plans to attend from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m.

Free food and free T-shirts also will be available, while supplies last.

Vendors will cover a range of interests, from health, wellness, and mobility, to financial planning and insurance, all catering to City of Tampa seniors.

Senior Day in the Park has been a City of Tampa Parks & Recreation tradition since 1982. It is an excellent opportunity for seniors to gather and celebrate their community while also having fun and engaging in healthy activities.
