The Tampa Convention Center is anticipating increased traffic Wednesday, March 13, 2024 through Sunday, March 17, 2024 due to two events. The Florida State Thespian Festival is happening March 13-16 at the Tampa Convention Center and is expected to bring 7,600 attendees to the City of Tampa. The Molten Florida Pre-Qualifier volleyball tournament is going on March 15-17 and is expected to draw about 4,000 athletes and spectators.

Drivers should anticipate additional traffic volume in Downtown Tampa near the Tampa Convention Center on these dates. Please plan extra time for your commute. Tampa Police will be stationed at crosswalks to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian crossings.

These events at the Tampa Convention Center are expected to bring an estimated economic impact of more than $9.1 million dollars to the City of Tampa combined.

These events coincide with wastewater pipeline construction, which has closed Franklin Street at Channelside Drive. To avoid the closure, event attendees who are driving to these events should go directly to the Tampa Convention Center parking garage, located at 141 East Brorein Street in Tampa, across the street from the center’s Franklin Street Entrance. Additional parking is available at Pam Iorio Parking Garage, located at 301 Channelside Drive, Tampa, just one block from the center. Drop-off and pick-up spots for Tampa Convention Center visitors, including ADA and rideshare, are available in front of Harpoon Harry's Crab House, located at 225 S. Franklin St. in Tampa.

Please note, these events are private and only open to registered participants and spectators.
