Roots & Shoots, Moms Clean Air Force - Florida, The Green Team, and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful are partnering for a tree planting event at Takomah Trail Park in Tampa on Thursday, July 18, from 8-10 a.m.

Together, representatives from the organizations as well as registered guests will plant 10 trees in an area of Tampa burdened by air pollution and extreme heat. The organizations also will provide information and activities that will help educate kids and their families on the importance of clean air.

This hands-on event is perfect for kids of all ages who want to learn about nature and make a positive impact on the environment. Organizers will demonstrate the benefit of teamwork to beautify our community and create a greener future for all.

“We hope to spread awareness about air pollution while giving parents and children alike opportunities to make an impact in cleaning up our air,” said Emily Pickett, Florida Organizer, Moms Clean Air Force. “Too often individuals feel helpless when dealing with big issues like pollution and climate change. We want to change that by giving community members tangible ways they can get involved in making a difference.”

All attendees must register on EventBrite to attend. Parents must register tickets for both themselves and their children.

“Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots is thrilled to partner with Moms Clean Air Force for this event,” said Bonnie Eaton, Tampa Bay Basecamp Coordinator. “As Dr. Goodall would say, ‘Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference.’ This event demonstrates how the youngest members of our community can have a positive impact on air quality.”
