Senior Day in the Park is set for Friday, March 14, when more than 400 local seniors and 45 vendors will gather in Macfarlane Park for a free celebration that promotes healthy living.
Senior Day in the Park has been a City of Tampa Parks & Recreation tradition since 1982. It is an excellent opportunity for seniors to gather and celebrate their community while also having fun and engaging in healthy activities. This year's event will occur at the David Barksdale Active Adult Center at McFarlane Park, located at 1801 N Lincoln Ave.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will start with a 1-mile walk in the park for those ready for some exercise. Seniors will be able to enjoy live entertainment, raffles, and games. Free food and free t-shirts will be available, while supplies last.
On-site vendors will cover a range of interests, from health, wellness, and mobility to financial planning and insurance, all catering to City of Tampa seniors.
Event details can be found here. Senior residents interested in attending can also learn more about Senior Day in the Park by call (813) 348-1180.
