TAMPA, FL. (MAY 29, 2025) - - The Tampa Police Department, continuing the relentless effort to combat child exploitation, arrested 21-year-old Jesse Sharrer (white male, 9/11/2003) after a detailed investigation related to child pornography.

The investigation by Tampa Police began on December 25, 2024, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) provided a cyber-tip regarding child pornography. Detectives with the Tampa Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit immediately began their thorough investigation, developing leads that directed them to Sharrer’s residence at 4317 S Hubert Ave. As the investigation progressed, detectives meticulously gathered evidence, ultimately leading to a search warrant for Sharrer’s home.

On the morning of May 29, 2025, the search warrant was executed, and Sharrer was taken into custody. He has been charged with two (2) counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

"The unwavering dedication of our detectives to pursue justice for these heinous crimes is evident in these recent arrests," said Chief Lee Bercaw. "Our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community is absolute. We will continue to use every resource at our disposal to hold these suspects accountable for their actions and to dismantle networks that exploit children.”

Sharrer was transported to Orient Road Jail.
