This information is 3 months 3 weeks old and may no longer be accurate.

One of the ways the City of Tampa is celebrating 813 Day is by partnering with local environmental groups and businesses for a special river clean-up event.

The Solid Waste Department's Litter Skimmer Trash Boat will be working alongside other organizations, including Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, to remove trash from the Hillsborough River.

Community members are invited to join the effort by registering online. Event organizers will meet Wednesday, August 13th, at 10:00 A.M. at Urban Kai, located outside of Armature Works, near the river.

Participants can reserve a vessel for the clean-up with rental options available through Urban Kai for 1, 2, or 3 hours. Use code 813day for $5 off your rental.

Available Vessels to Rent:

  • Standup Paddleboard (1/2/3 hour options)
  • Single Kayak (1/2/3 hour options)
  • Double Kayak (1/2/3 hour options)
  • BYOBoard - FREE

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check-in and get ready to paddle. Remember to bring your water bottle and wear sun-protective clothing. Participants must register online in advance.
