TAMPA, FL. (October 3, 2025) - - Less than eight hours after the incident occurred, Tampa Police have arrested 59-year-old Louis Jules (black male, 02/08/1966) in connection with the homicide that occurred earlier today.
Shortly after 11:00 a.m., officers responded to the 8500 block of El Portal Drive in reference to two people shot.
Upon their arrival, a 37-year-old male and a 40-year-old female were located on scene and pronounced deceased.
After the deadly shooting, Jules immediately fled the scene.
While the events leading up to the incident are still under investigation, officers were able to locate Jules through investigative means and arrest him before 6:00 p.m.
“While the pain of losing a loved one never goes away, I’m proud of the swift work of our officers and detectives that will bring these families some answers,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Crimes like this will not be tolerated, and our officers and detectives proved their determination to deliver justice quickly.”
Next of kin notifications are still pending.
