Fall is in the air, bringing fair weather and a slew of major events in and around downtown Tampa this Saturday, October 11. Drivers should prepare for busy roads, congestion, and limited parking throughout the day.
Large events drawing the most attention include (but are not limited to):
- TPD Memorial 5K – Bayshore / Lykes Park @ 8 a.m.
- Fall Showcase – Water Works Park @ 9 a.m.
- Oktoberfest – Curtis Hixon Park @ 11 a.m.
- Tampa Bay Lightning Game – Benchmark International Arena @ 7 p.m.
- Straz Center Shows – 2 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8 p.m.
- Tampa Theatre Shows – 2:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to use alternative transportation options whenever possible, like the free TECO Line Streetcar, Dash service, HART buses, or rideshare services. Remember, arrive early, allow extra time to find parking, and follow all posted detours or directions from Tampa Police officers.
