The Kate Jackson Center's Anderson Playground has beautiful new equipment with ADA upgrades and is unveiling it all with a ribbon cutting.
In addition to the new equipment - featuring a Kompan Giant Dome - the park received safer ground covering, aesthetic enhancements, and ADA upgrades as the City of Tampa and the Parks and Recereation Department continue to make every area accessible to all residents.
"Anderson Park is one South Tampa's main play spaces and meeting places, and was due for an upgrade," Mayor Jane Castor said. "A park like this, equipment like this, and a day like this make us all feel like a kid again."
The $550,000 project began August 25 with the demolition and removal of the old playground equipment.
Because of the scope of the work, the basketball court, young children's play area, and the splash pad all were closed during this project.
The Kate Jackson Center opened in 2003.
