TAMPA, FL. (DECEMBER 1, 2025) - - Just before 10pm on Sunday, November 30, 2025, Tampa Police responded to the 1500 block of W. Chestnut St. Preliminary information suggested that a verbal argument, which escalated into a physical altercation between two women, resulted in the death of one of the women.
All parties have been identified in this isolated incident and have been determined to be acquainted with each other. There is no ongoing threat to the public.
Officers arrived to find one of the women, a black female in her mid-30s, with a deep laceration to the arm. She was transported to a nearby hospital for medial treatment of her non-life-threatening injury. She has since been released.
The second woman, a black female in her early 30s, had been transported to the hospital by private vehicle before officers arrived. It was determined that she was suffering from multiple stab wounds and was in critical condition. During the investigation, Tampa Police were notified that the woman had died as a result of her injuries.
Investigators immediately began gathering evidence and witness statements. Detectives are now working to confirm what led to the initial altercation and the exact timeline of actions that took place in this incident. Investigators are also working closely with the State Attorney’s Office to determine what, if any, charges may be applicable.
