Traffic Advisory: Saturday, December 6th

'Tis the season for major holiday events and this Saturday, December 6th we will see a blizzard of 'em. From parades, to tree lightings, to bike rides and more, you can expect a flurry of activity in and around Downtown Tampa. Remember, The Big Guy tends to attract a lot of attention so expect heavy traffic and lots of pedestrians all day long... maybe even some reindeer too.

The events drawing the biggest crowds include the OnBikes Winter Wonder Ride at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park / Bayshore Boulevard and the 2025 Santa Fest Parade & Tree Lighting at Curtis Hixon Park.

Road closures will begin as early as 6AM! 

The OnBikes Winter Wonder Ride starts rolling at 9 AM from Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park.


Winter Wonder Ride Road Closures Include:
  • Water Street and Downtown area - 6 AM - 11 AM
  • Bayshore to Rome - 8 AM - 11 AM
 
Santa Fest Parade & Festivities:
  • Roads will close starting at 9 AM
  • The parade starts at 1 PM, traveling down Madison Street to Ashley Drive, ending near Polk Street.
  • Santa Fest in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park also kicks off at 1 PM.
  • The Tree Lighting ceremony begins around 6 PM, including live entertainment and holiday magic.

  • Straz Center: Comedian/actor John Mulaney
  • Benchmark International Arena: Tampa Bay Lighting game
  • Blake Stadium/Suncoast Union Field: Tampa Bay Sun game


Downtown will be full of holiday cheer and traffic! Please plan ahead, allow extra time for travel, and be patient with limited parking and congestion.
