Ho, Ho, Ho...there's a Nice List of events this Saturday, December 20, likely to draw big crowds and potential traffic congestion. Don't be on the Naughty List - plan ahead, leave early, watch out for pedestrians and use this traffic advisory to stay on track.
Some of the busiest locations will be near Benchmark International Arena, Julian B. Lane Park, Curtis Hixon Park, and the Tampa Convention Center. With several events overlapping, expect a high number of both pedestrians and drivers entering and exiting these event zones throughout the day and evening.
Events include, but are not limited to:
- Candy Cane Lane Kids Market @ Waterworks Park - 10 AM - 3 PM
- Holiday Riverfront Festival @ Julian B. Lane Park - 2:30 PM - 9:30 PM (Laurel Street between Boulevard and Doyle Carlton will close beginning at 1:30 PM - 10:30 PM)
- Holiday Lighted Boat Parade - Along the Hillsborough River - 6 PM
- Straz Shows - 2 PM, 3 PM, and 7:30 PM
- Tampa Theatre Shows - 3 PM and 7 PM
- Tampa Convention Center - Private Event - 7 PM - 11:15 PM
- Winter Village @ Curtis Hixon Park 12 PM - 11 PM
Event attendees are encouraged to use alternative transportation options whenever possible, including the free TECO Line Streetcar, DASH service, HART buses, rentable scooters and bikes, rideshare options, etc.
