TAMPA, Fla. (January 12, 2026) - The Florida Music Education Association (FMEA) Professional Learning Conference returns to the Tampa Convention Center January 14–17, 2026, continuing its legacy as the longest-running convention in Tampa.
Now in its 82nd year, FMEA is one of the largest music education professional learning events in the United States and has been held in Tampa for more than 60 years. The event is contracted with the Tampa Convention Center through 2032, reinforcing its long-standing partnership with the City of Tampa.
The conference is expected to draw over 20,000 attendees, including concert guests, and generate an estimated $8.6 million in economic impact, supporting local hospitality businesses and jobs.
Traffic Advisory
Drivers should expect increased pedestrian and bus traffic during the event near the Tampa Convention Center, particularly along South Franklin Street near the center’s Front Drive.
Peak traffic periods include:
- Thursday morning and evening
- Friday morning and evening
