TAMPA, FL. (APRIL 15, 2026) - - The Tampa Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 3700 block of E. Powhatan Ave.
Just before 3:00 pm, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area and discovered an adult black male suffering from a gunshot wound inside a residence. Officers immediately provided life-saving measures until the arrival of Tampa Fire Rescue, who then transported the man to a local hospital. Despite these efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Detectives are now gathering evidence, witness statements, and working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting and identify all individuals involved.
