TAMPA, FL (May 12th, 2026) – The Tampa Police Department is inviting the community to an upcoming "Takeover with a Purpose" event designed to create a positive and safe alternative for teens.
"We want young people to know that the Tampa Police Department and our community partners are invested in them and their future," said Chief Lee Bercaw. "This is an opportunity to create positive spaces and outlets for our teens. We are committed to the safety of everyone."
The goal is to bring together youth, families, community partners, and law enforcement for an evening focused on positive engagement and community connection.
The "Takeover with A Purpose" event will take place on Friday, May 15th, 2026, from 8 p.m. to Midnight at the Jackson Heights NFL YET Center (3310 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610).
There will be free food, activities and raffle prizes available.
