Tampa Police Officer Arrested for DUI

TAMPA, FL. (May 10, 2026) - - An off-duty probationary Tampa Police officer was arrested on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) late Saturday night.

Kevin Casazza, an officer with the Tampa Police Department, was arrested just before midnight on May 9, 2026, following a traffic stop on Interstate 275 near Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

"This incident is deeply disappointing," said Chief Lee Bercaw. "Every employee, on or off duty, is expected to hold themselves to the highest standards. That also includes our officers abiding by the same laws they swore to uphold."

Hired in 2025, Casazza had yet to complete probationary training and was immediately relieved of duty due to the criminal investigation. The Tampa Police Department will also conduct an internal investigation into the matter.
