The construction for the temporary traffic signals on Bayshore Boulevard began on Wednesday, April 29. Barricades and signs are located in the area to assist with traffic flow. Please use caution when driving in the area.

The traffic signals are anticipated to be in operation by Friday, May 29, weather permitting.

Project Description:

This project consists of installations of temporary traffic signals as part of Vision Zero to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all. The signals will be installed at the following intersections.

  • Bayshore Boulevard and S Rome Avenue
  • Bayshore Boulevard and W Euclid Avenue

The intersections were identified in the previous safety study and met the signal warrants for a traffic signal. This project includes wood poles, span wires, signal heads, pedestrian heads and buttons, cabinets, pull boxes, wiring, conduit, and video detection.

The temporary traffic signals allow the City to deploy rapid response safety projects while the vehicular traffic is light at various locations.
