On Tuesday, November 1, at 6:00 PM, Chief O'Connor, joined by Mayor Jane Castor and other community leaders, will host a Community Forum to discuss topics including violent crime, crime reduction programs, community engagement, specific neighborhood concerns, and future initiatives.
"We look at this opportunity as a 'Community Roll Call', a larger version of the Front Porch Roll Call program we currently offer", said Chief O'Connor of these open Community Forums. This forum will be held at Ragan Park, located at 1200 E. Lake Avenue. Everyone in the community is encouraged to attend and share personal concerns and suggestions for addressing quality of life issues through collaborative approaches.
Any community member who would like to host a future Roll Call in their neighborhood can go to tampa.gov/police/programs and select Front Porch Roll Call. Tampa Police officers will be available to talk about safety tips, current crime trends, and recent incidents in the area, while continuing to build positive relationships with residents they serve.
