City of Tampa Launches a Pilot Sidewalk and Variable-Message Sign Public Messaging Campaign with Public Art Project Designed for Social Distancing Safety Awareness

This information is 4 years old and may no longer be accurate.

The City is Tampa is launching a pilot public messaging campaign reminding people to practice social distancing in high-density public pedestrian right-of-ways. The messages will reflect the stay calm, stay kind, and stay safe theme, these messages will be painted on city sidewalks and trails using a temporary spray chalk. Variable-Message Signs will also be placed along Bayshore Boulevard, the Riverwalk, on Howard Avenue, and on New Tampa Boulevard. While people can still take a walk, ride a bike, hike, jog and be in nature for exercise, the City wants to remind everyone to just keep at least six (6) feet between others in the community.

Messages thanking our health heroes: our doctors, nurses, and all medical staff, will also be spray painted in front of City hospitals.
