The City of Tampa Mobility and City Planning Departments recently launched an initiative called Tampa MOVES that will help shape transportation, growth, and development in Tampa now and into the future. This plan will be developed through community input to outline a clear vision for the City.
Community engagement will begin with a series of “Listen First” meetings intended to help identify opportunities and challenges facing the City of Tampa. The purpose of these “Listen First” meetings is to listen to all ideas and comments prior to developing plans, making decisions, taking action, and building projects.
“Our goal is to improve mobility in every neighborhood--and that means listening first,” says Tampa Mayor Jane Castor. “By listening to the feedback and ideas of our community, we can address the specific concerns residents are experiencing from block to block and make meaningful changes that will improve access to reliable transportation, increase safety, and enhance the quality of life for all Tampanians.”
The input from these “Listen First” meetings will be used by the City to recommend solutions and actions for the future. Meetings dates for different areas of the City and links to join each meeting can be found at: tpamoves.org/listen-first-meetings.
If you are unable to attend the meeting in your neighborhood, you may choose to attend a meeting in another area or watch the recording. Meeting dates, recordings, and a follow up survey will be provided at tpamoves.org.
